I lived through the Fab Five era within college basketball, literally breathing the same air and vicariously identifying with the brothers who brought power and style to the sport. I was approximately the same age as the five freshmen who took their team to the NCAA championship, and I even wore black socks on the court (yes, I am ashamed to admit that). Well, there certainly is a lot going on in the news these days. Like the old Chinese curse said, we are living in exciting times. There are many uprisings in North Africa. People are dying in Libya and Saudi Arabia as they struggle against oppression. It looks like they may be gearing up to send troops in to "keep the peace" and protect foreign interests. American workers employed in the public sector have come out in force trying to protect their interests. In Wisconsin, they have even gone so far as to make death threats against Republicans holding office and their families. Oil futures are skyrocketing and gasoline prices increasing across the globe, making modern life more and more difficult for the common folk to afford. It's almost enough to make one's head spin.
